SeedCon’s mission and vision.

Pioneering Seed Microbiome Collaboration

SeedCon was created to close a gap that had been ignored for far too long: the crucial role of seeds in shaping plant microbiomes and driving plant health across generations. While microbiome science has flourished, the study of seed-associated microbes and microbial inheritance remained scattered across disciplines and communities.

Launched at the Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy (ATB) in Potsdam, SeedCon is the first conference fully dedicated to seed microbiomes and microbial inheritance. Its mission is simple yet bold: unite experts, set shared research standards, and accelerate discovery before the next era of plant–microbe research advances without a clear anchor.

SeedCon is intentionally interdisciplinary, drawing together plant biologists, ecologists, microbiome engineers, agricultural scientists, and biotechnology leaders. It is a hub for fostering collaborations, defining research priorities, and building a thriving community committed to advancing seed microbiome research and sustainable agriculture.

A Global Community with a Shared Vision

SeedCon is more than a venue for presentations—it’s a place for building long-term networks, collaborations, and research agendas that will guide the future of seed microbiome science. By bringing together leading scientists, early-career researchers, and industry partners, SeedCon is shaping a vital field.

Here, at the intersection of disciplines, SeedCon drives both foundational discovery and innovative applications to build resilience and sustainability into plant systems for years to come.
